ogether with engineer Giotto Bizzarrini, designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and chassis builder Bertone, Renzo Rivolta began developing the Iso Rivolta Gran Tourismo, which was first presented at the Torino Show of 1962. It was an elegant 2 + 2 Coupé with well-balanced technical components and outstanding driving performance.
The unique situation of finding two of the 797 ever built GTs in a barn in Switzerland, was a clear message to preserve at least #796 with the extremely rare 350 HP engine back.
Our call: lead the restauration of an Italian masterpiece of engineering.
THE IDEA
Preserve and restore a unique Italian sport car “barn find” and bring it back on the road after more than 35 years of being abandoned.
THE GOAL
Our task is to arrange and implement in close collaboration with expert partners the full restoration of an extremely rare Italian sport car.
THE RESULT
The restauration is near to be completed. We solved a lot of challenging tasks related to a brand that disappeared 45 years ago; gaining a lot of vehicle specific experience and finding sources for spare parts.
THE FUTURE
The restauration will be completed in 2017. The car and it’s story will be fully documented and offered to special interest media in order to be shared with interested public.
